A 21-year-old Arizona native, Morgan Tanabe currently resides in Tempe, Ariz., and attends the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in downtown Phoenix. An aspiring multimedia journalist, and part-time barista, she plans to one day live in Colorado. Her passion for writing has served as her creative outlet. Previously, she has held an internship as a breaking news reporter for The Arizona Republic’s breaking news team, and has also worked for Arizona State University’s State Press newspaper and the State Press Magazine. In high school she was the Editor-in-Chief of her school newspaper where she met her journalism teacher who inspired her to become a journalist with an emphasis on music. After traveling Japan in 2006, she discovered an admiration for Japanese fashion and culture. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her black cat Manson, searching for vintage jewelry, or listening to ’80s punk music.
